Paragliding is a beautiful and exhilarating sport: we can leave solid ground, play with the wind, experience freedom, silence, and stunning views… Flying close to a bird, entering a cloud, gaining altitude, and traveling with nothing but our own company. However, it also involves risks and thus requires precise training.
At our school, we offer various paragliding courses in Alicante and will teach you how to fly, drawing on our extensive experience to make your learning experience as safe and enjoyable as possible. We respect each student’s abilities and adapt to their individual needs.
TWO TYPES OF PARAGLIDING COURSES, DEPENDING ON YOUR NEEDS
1. Paragliding Course
Our course is designed so that, upon completion, you can fly autonomously and safely.
Paragliding is influenced by four fundamental characteristics:
- Good technique, which will enable us to take off and land safely.
- Having sufficient information about meteorology, topography, and other factors allows us to choose the best times for flying and identify safe locations.
- A good-quality, properly suited, and well-maintained equipment that matches the pilot’s technical level.
- Above all, a lot of common sense to help minimize the inherent risks of the sport.
OUR COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR DISTINCT PARTS.
The first part is called the “Ground Training Phase” In this phase, you will learn how to handle the paraglider on the ground, keeping it stable like a kite. We will teach you the two common methods of takeoff.
Once you have mastered ground handling, we move on to the second phase, known as the Small Descents Phase. Here, you will practice takeoff and landing techniques through numerous small descents in designated training areas. You will use your own equipment in this phase to get accustomed to your wing.

With ground handling, takeoff, and landing under your belt, the next step is to learn to pilot the paraglider in flight. This is covered in the third phase, the “Piloting Phase”. During this phase, you will undertake several tandem flights where you will take control and learn to pilot. We will fly with you, correcting any errors and teaching you how to identify flight characteristics such as thermals, wind shadows, etc.
Finally, it’s your turn. In the fourth phase, known as the “Solo Flight Phase”, you will fly independently. Initially, your flights will be supervised by an instructor during takeoff and landing. In the final flights, we will fly alongside you, each with your own equipment, and provide corrections via radio if necessary.
SAFETY
Throughout the course you will be insured through our federation, overing any potential issues. The license fee is additional and will also be valid after the course is completed.
During the paragliding course, you will receive the book “Introduction to Paragliding” from Editorial Perfils, which serves as the theoretical foundation for the course and will help you obtain your certification.
